Women's Ministry - "WINGS"The Women's Ministry Advisory Committee consists of women from our congregation with a heart for service who have volunteered to serve our church family and community. They are ready to encourage you and provide assistance wherever possible.
Our desire is to invite you to find a place of your own within our church family, form relationships and join us in serving God.
Wherever your interests lie, it is our hope that you find an offering that meets your needs. Please join us as we grow closer in our relationships with each other and with God.
•Sunday Morning Women's Class, 10:00-10:45am
•Tuesday Morning Women's Class, 9:30-11:00am
(Pre-school child care provided)
The September opening session includes our traditional opening brunch!
•Wednesday Evening Women's Class, 7:00-8:00pm
This is an overnight event that is held yearly in the early spring. The ladies of the congregation meet at a local hotel for a weekend get away to refresh their soul and rejuvenate their fellowship with one another. Topics and speakers vary from year to year, but the anticipation and participation is consistent!
AAA Pregnancy Center...
Once a month, we partner with the AAA Pregnancy Center to provide a simple meal and childcare while the women from the Center attend a class in our church building. The women earn tokens for attending the class that they can redeem for baby supplies at the AAA Pregnancy Store. Along with providing a comfortable meeting place, it also provides our congregation an opportunity to serve by meal preparation, set up, clean up and childcare.
Hats and Mitten Tree...
Children's hats and mittens are collected during the colder months and donated to local schools. During the month of December there is a tree in the lobby for donations to be placed.
Prayer Shawl Ministry...
Prayer shawls are knitted and crocheted by women of the congregation to be given to specific individuals in need of comfort or to be donated to the Angela Hospice program.
There are many felllowship opportunities for our women to participate in throughout the year. An ongoing example is the Book and Movie Club described below. Other events would include a women's coffee night at a local bakery/coffee shop or a weekend shopping trip together!
Book & Movie Club...
This group meets approximately every six (6) weeks at member's homes. They alternate between watching a movie and discussing it or reading and discussing a book chosen by the group.
